In June of last year Behaviour Interactive, GAEA, and HBO announced a new mobile title based on the Game of Thrones series titled Game of Thrones Beyond the Wall. It seemed like odd timing as the series had already ended the month prior, and you’d think a mobile tie-in game would line up with when fans were still watching new episodes live on TV. But perhaps this was just a way to extend interest in Game of Thrones beyond the series finale and with that Game of Thrones Beyond the Wall was available at that time for pre-order with an expected release date in September. Well, September came and went, and that pre-order was eventually pulled down from the App Store, so many people were left wondering what the heck was up with that? Today we now know what indeed was up with that, as the developers have finally announced a hard release date for Game of Thrones Beyond the Wall and it’ll be later this month on March 26th. Here’s a brand new trailer as well.
Interestingly that shiny new release date only applies to the iOS version of the game, which will launch worldwide, but the official Twitter account for the game states that “starting April 3rd” it’ll be available for Android devices. I’m not sure if that “starting” indicates more of a staggered rollout on Android, but one thing that’s for certain is that iOS will have at least a week of exclusivity, for whatever that’s worth. They’ve also put up a new pre-order link on the iOS App Store to go along with the pre-registration link for Android on Google Play, and are offering up some new tiers of rewards for pre-orderers/pre-register…ers. They’d previously reached the 1 million mark for pre-orders before, so now if they can get to the 1.5m, 2m, and 3m marks there will be some additional goodies when the game launches. You can find more details about those rewards, as well as more details about the game itself, over on the official website, and if you were hyped for Game of Thrones Beyond the Wall when it was announced last year then check it out on iOS on March 26th and Android a week later.
